Books

Readings

The best definition of a particular interesting religion I have yet encountered.

Studies tonight turned to the occult, more or less because of a post on DisInfo which reminded me of a book I've been meaning/told to read, and brought up a lot of names that ring bells in my head in short order:

I've seen many good organizations compromised by infighting and bickering. The TA script is called "War of the Magicians": it split the Fourth Way (George Gurdjieff and Pyotr Ouspensky), the counterculture (Mondo 2000 v Wired; Mark Dery v Douglas Rushkoff), the Enneagram (Helen Palmer's decision to publish material and create a fake "oral tradition"), and the 1975 split between Anton LaVey (Church of Satan) and Dr. Michael A. Aquino (who subsequently founded the Temple of Set).

In particular, I am interested in the Satanic/Set split, knowing only a little about it, although I know I should read up on Gurdjieff from in

Well, I did some reading on the CoS,ToS, and related sites and find myself interested in the Setites (Setians?) rather more than I expected. I can't really process in too much more of that stuff now, so I'm switching gears, but I remain quite curious as to whether I will be as interested in things Setian in a few weeks.. After all, after being struck by and then reading Cunningham, I thought I might end up as a Wiccan should the need for religionism ever overwhelm me..(My views on Wicca had up until that point been poisioned by the first individual who spoke to me about it. She was a Dianist, which is a nicer way of saying misanthrope, a hater of men)(Corrections welcome, as always.)

And on a completely different note: Tired of losing money on the stock market trying to help ccorporations which demean you and deprive you of things (life liberty, et al)? Then invest in RTMark..

G'nite.
