So, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to find out if something… - nil.enroll(aetheric_username, quantum_class_id)

So, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to find out if something (work?) is driving me crazy in a clinical and non-literary sense. Apparently a nasty behaviour pattern of mine, which I unfortunately exhibited at the office the last day or so, is recognizable by the more experienced as being linked to anxiety.

Since it seems I'll be doing some psychology reading for the first time in a little while, I figure it's about time for an Amazon order. Other than Anxiety and Phobias Workbook by Edmund Bourne, any suggestions?

Care to describe it? I've spent large periods of my adult life going nuts in workplace situations, and also spent lots of time on self analysis!

On the things to read front, I'd recommend a re-read of R, or at least the PS, and perhaps some simple Taoism stuff (Hua Hu Ching, Chuang Tzu, Tao Te Ching).

Hmm. I liked "The Noonday Demon", but it focused more on depression than anxiety. Of course, it goes into both as anxiety is the brother of depression.

I thought it was very well written and presented both medical information AND first hand accounts of people dealing with depression across cultural boundaries (so, not just the way the US handles it).

The last 2 weeks work has been an nightmare. It's overflowed into my personal life. I am tense and anxious all the time. I haven't felt like this in many months. I just feel like I'm in a permanent waking nightmare.

Anyways, it should go away. Sometimes all you can do is hold on until the storm is over.

Wow. I can see how that would easily be possible, although I haven't really explored such an idea as far as actual theories on the subject. I would be very interested to hear what the result might be.
